Welcome to the project page for DedaWiki.

I created DedaWiki because I wanted a Ruby on Rails based wiki done “my way”. I’ve also put some effort into it so that it’s not too difficult for other people to use.

DedaWiki is distributed under the very liberal Apache Software License, which means that you have the right to integrate this code into proprietary applications if you so desire.

Features

• Uses the Maruku version of markdown for its wiki syntax.
• Uses diff-lcs and xhtmldiff for page differences.
• Lots of caching.
• Anti Spam stuff.
• Threaded comments system.

Installation

1. Create a database - (dedawiki_production, for example), and configure config/database.yml to point to it.

2. gem install maruku (as root, using sudo or something similar)

3. gem install hpricot

4. Point your browser at http://YOURSITE/setup to set up the initial configuration and site administrator.
